Having recently spent some time down in the States, I was shocked about how many people don’t have basic health coverage. Here’s an example: My second week in LA, my friend Sharon was getting a bunch of girls together to come out with me and her rollerskating. One of the girls has to decline because she didn’t have medical insurance, so if she fell or broke something she’s be screwed. That’s just not stuff we ever even think about up here in Canada.
The Canadian and American health systems have their strengths and weaknesses, but ever since that story, I’ve been really interested in seeing Sicko (the new documentary by Michael Moore looking at the American Health Care System). Here are a couple of the new posters that have just been released:
