Some In House Updates

Hey there guys. Just dropping some in house updates for you regular Movie Blog Readers (or anyone else who may actually care).

1) MY MOVIE IS DONE!!!! “Prince of Peace – God of War” is now finished!!!!!

Yes, I’m still spending the next couple of days fine tuning audio segments, touching up some graphics and tightening up some of the cuts here and there… but essentially it’s FINISHED! I made the final edits last night. It was one year ago this month that I started the project, and now… 4 months late… it’s FINALLY done.

For those of you who may not know, “Prince of Peace – God of War” is my documentary looking at the issue of Violence and the Christian religion. Here’s the synopsis:

“The Religious Right in America were the largest body of supporters for the decision to go to war in Iraq by one of their own, President George W. Bush. But how can the Religious Right lobby and support actions of war, when their own religion was founded on the pacifist teachings of its founder, and whose church practiced a strict pacifism for the first 300 years of its existence until the time of Constantine? Prince of Peace – God of War is a look at the growing political and moral divide in the Christian Faith of North America over the question: Should Christians kill people?”

The first test screenings are this Friday night. It’s showing to 3 different groups of people in 2 different cities. It a stressful feeling. I’ve put a year of my heart and soul into this… and now on one night… 60 strangers are going to tell me if it sucks ass.

As long as they like it… I submit the movie to the Toronto International Film Festival next week. I guess because I’m a gluton for rejection. :)

2) The Movie Blog: Uncut LIVE tonight!

Don’t forget, we go live at 6pm EST (3pm PST). You can just click on that banner in the left side bar… or go to www.nowlive.com/themovieblog

3) John’s Lack of Posts

As I mentioned in the first item… I’ve been racing to put the final touches on my movie and will be still reviewing it for the next 2 days. So Doug is taking care of all the posting this week
