Tim Roth Is Abomination In The Hulk

This is nothing short of fantastic news. As you all know by now, there is another Hulk movie coming our way. If I understand it right, it’s basically a re-start… pretending that the first one doesn’t even exist (but there is some debate on that). Either way… despite the fact that a lot of people didn’t like the first Hulk film (I did) it seems that the new project is being made to give everything the fans want.

First was the announcement that Louis Leterrier would be directing (both Transporter movies and the Jet Li flick Unleashed) so you know they’re putting a heavy emphasis on the action. Then came word that Edward Norton is playing Bruce/Hulk. And now.. they’ve added another stellar actor, Tim Roth, to play the bad guy… ABOMINATION!

The folks over at Canmag give us this:

Marvel Studios has picked up Tim Roth to play Emil Blonsky in their upcoming film The Incredible Hulk. Roth will star next to Edward Norton and Liv Tyler as the film’s villain. Blonsky is a KGB agent who deliberately exposes himself to the gamma rays that caused Bruce Banner to morph into the Hulk. Blonsky has upped the dosage, making him larger and stronger than the Hulk, but unable to change back to human form. He blames Banner for his problem, and makes his best efforts to destroy the Hulk.

Tim Roth absolutely owned the screen as Archibald Cunningham in the movie Rob Roy. It was one of the best performances by a supporting actor I’ve ever seen in a film. Why his career isn’t bigger is beyond me. Everything he does he does with excellence. This is fantastic news.

So a new Hulk is coming… with the bad guy being The Abomination… played by Tim Roth… and Edward Norton is the Hulk… and a committed action director is at the helm… oh joy! This is going to be fun.
