For those of you that were worried that Ben Stiller may not have 4 movies out this year; you can settle down. He has another movie that is being writing with him in mind called “In Deep.” We get the scoop from the movieweb:
The comedy In Deep is being set up by DreamWorks as a potential starring vehicle for Ben Stiller. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mark Romanek will be directing the film.
George Beckerman wrote the screenplay, which chronicles the misadventures of a man who decides to fight a parking ticket and ends up enmeshed in criminal allegations.
I have always said to anyone that would listen, that a movie about a parking ticket is going to revive Hollywood cinema as we know it. Well friends it looks like that day is about to arrive. The parking ticket genre is wide open, and this movie will set the stage for all that will follow; this is a great responsibility to bear and I am sure Dreamworks and Stiller are up for the task.
I would like to see a reenvisioning of Leaving Las Vegas where Nick Cage gets a parking ticket and then just drinks himself to death in a car while listening to the song “Viva Las Vegas” as sung by Elvis Presley.
This parking ticket genre is going to be huge – wait for it. We have no word when this will be released as of yet, but I hope the DVD is released near Xmas so I can get copies for my loved ones.
