Some movie news is better than others! We are informed of a new project named Frankenhood en route, thanks to the moviehole:
Lionsgate will distribute the comedy Frakenhood, according to Variety. The film, starring DeRay Davis, Charlie Murphy and Jasper Redd, completed principal photography over the weekend. Music video helmer Blaxwell Smart is directing from a script by Dan Filie.
The comedy revolves around two morgue workers eager to win a local streetball tournament. Their chances are zero to none, until they enlist a large corpse who has been brought back to life by a surly mad scientist.
I am a fan of movies that take place in the hood. Boys In The Hood, Leprechaun In The Hood, and now to my great delight, Frankenhood! Where poverty exists, hilarity abounds! Charlie Murphy is hysterically funny and I think this movie is going to be both ridiculous and hilarious. We have enough comedies about relationships, what we need are more comedies about re-animated corpses!
To breathe life into the dead in order to win a street basketball tournament is level 10 awesome! A movie like this is too much fun, and hats off to these guys for bringing us back to ridiculous. As I look over the stories that I have to announce today; I am thinking that this could be my best news day ever.
