Die Hard 4 Officially PG-13

Diehard4-SiteIt’s now official. Die Hard 4 has been slapped with a PG-13 rating. All over the place, people are freaking out, demanding that the film be an R rated film. Freaking out, I might add, for no good reason whatsoever, Let me repeat what I’ve said here a few times already. The only thing the PG-13 rating means for Die Hard 4 is that Bruce doesn’t say “Fuck” as often as he did in the previous films.

Obviously he has his “yippee Kia Yay…” line that must be said, and we already know for a fact that line is in the movie. Aside from that… I don’t give a fuck how often Bruce says fuck. I’m baffled by how many fanboys (a group of which I count myself one of) can be so short sighted as to proclaim a movie will suck because “fuck” isn’t said enough. REALLY??? Is that the formula for quality in a movie? Fuck must be said more? That’s the magic ingredient? Without ample supplies of “fuck” a movie sucks???

Right on the listing (provided by our friends over at JoBlo) from the official Die Hard 4 website, the film has “Intense Sequences of violence and Action”.

Is it disappointing that it got a PG-13 instead of an R? Yes… for sure… but all these proclamations about how the movie will suck just because fewer instances of the word “fuck” will be used is kinda insane.

Die Hard 4 may very well suck, we don’t know… but if it sucks, adding 20 more uses of the word “fuck” wouldn’t have saved it.
