We have news today about the DVD release of the Grindhouse films Planet Terror and Death Proof. The story and following news comes to us from moviehole:
You can forget about pre-ordering “Grindhouse” on DVD – well, in the pure sense.
According to Davis DVD, both “Grindhouse” films will – as is the theatrical plan for everywhere but the states – be released separately on disc.
The first to be released will be Quentin Tarantino’s “Death Proof”, arriving September 18 through Genius Entertainment and The Weinstein Co.
This is no surprise, most of us guessed this would happen and news led us to believe that this would be the case. I still think that in time we will see a collectors edition DVD set with the full theater experience. I cannot guarantee this, but if I was going to maximize profits off of DVD sales I certainly think that this would be the best strategy.
Will you guys buy the movies separately or hold out to see if you can get the whole package in the future?
