Todd Solondz has announced information about his upcoming film project. Not only is it said to be in the vein of Welcome to the dollhouse and Happiness, but the film will also be casting Sir Paul Reubens. We get the scoop from our friends at slashfilm:
Before he has a chance to get started on those two new Pee Wee Herman movies he’s been promising for years now (like those will ever happen), Paul Reubens will be featured in Todd Solondz’ new movie in a dramatic role.
Solondz first announced the film at the Cannes Film Festival, claiming that it is some sort of a companion piece to Happiness and Welcome to the Dollhouse.
I think these two guys were meant to work together. Solondz is known for his “out there” disturbing films and no on can do disturbing better than Paul Reubens. There is no title or date released for this picture as of yet, but as soon as we get the news we will pass it on to you folks.
I am very glad that Reubens is starting to work more in tv and film. He is an extremely talented actor that is capable of playing a myriad of characters, and has himself created a character of legendary proportions in Pee Wee Herman. I hope these two use their combined abilities to make something so outlandish, that it will stretch the definition of the word itself.
This on my watch list.
