Lust Caution is a movie I’ve eagerly been waiting to see a trailer for. I love Ang Lee. Crouching Tiger, Brokeback Mountain… hell… I’m even one of the few people who really liked his rendition of The Hulk. And this film just looks and sounds amazing. Here’s a clip from the official synopsis:
Academy Award-winning director Ang Lee takes the helm for this adaptation of an Eileen Chang story set in World War II-era Shanghai and detailing the political intrigue that surrounds a powerful political figure named Mr. Yee (Tony Leung). Later, a woman named Wang Jiazhi (Tang Wei) becomes swept up in the political firestorm as well. Joan Chen also stars as Mr. Yee’s wife.
Intrigue, love, betrayal, political espionage, murder, WW2 China… man this has all the elements. And I LOVE the trailer! No spoken words… just images to convey the feeling and idea of what the film will be. Check it out.
