It looks like Brad Pitt is jumping on the remake wagon with a stab at the legendary car-chase film Bullit. We get the scoop from our friends at monsters and critics:
The original film sees the tough detective hunting a hitman who has killed his fellow officers. The movie is renowned for featuring one of the best car chases in cinema history as McQueen’s Mustang car speeds through the rollercoaster streets of San Francisco.
Brad, 43, has been linked with the role since 2003 but the project has only now been given the green light as film bosses desperately try to kick-start as many movies as possible before the Screen Actors Guild begin their anticipated strike action.
I am not a fan of remakes, but a good car chase movie is kick ass and it may be a fun night out to the picture show. Pitt is a good cast for this role, Daniel Craig would of also been a very good pick. Steve left some very big shoes to fill and getting a person of ability is paramount; Brad Pitt is such a person.
In this film I think they should have two things remain the same. The movie must stay in San Francisco, and the car must be a Ford Mustang. I do not care if it is an old or a modern Mustang; but certainly have the car be a Mustang. The new Mustang actually looked awesome in Transformers, (Barricade with the black and white paint job looked awfully pretty) and I think the new hardtop is one of the best looking cars ford has had in years.
All in all, I do not think this movie should be remade, but since it is – I will see it. A San Francisco car chase scene is reason enough.
