Introducing “The Daily Cut”

Daily-Cut-Cover2Hey there guys. Ok, as any of you know who have been reading The Movie Blog for a while, we like to try new things around here… and we’re never afraid of failing. We like to try new things that other movie sites aren’t doing. We were the very first movie website to do a podcast, the first to video the podcast, and the first to do video reviews. This past week we even launched the first totally reader fun sub-site that we’re calling “The Movie Blog Community“.

Now, in the spirit of experimentation, we’re trying something new yet again just for fun. As you can see at the top of the page we have 2 players. On the right is the latest installment of The Movie Blog: Uncut podcast. From now on, you’ll never have to search for the newest show… you can just go to the top of the main page and hit play!

But the other thing we’ve got up there it totally new. A new daily video show we’re calling “The Movie Blog: Daily Cut”. Basically it’s going to be a 5 minute or less quick rundown of all the significant movie news of that day. You can even subscribe to it through iTunes to get the video delivered right to your player if you want!

The Daily Cut won’t offer much commentary on the news items… that’s what the posts are for… it’s just going to be a quick rundown of the significant news items that day in a quick easy to swallow pill.

I should point out that The Movie Blog is NOT a “news” site. We’re an opinion site. We don’t “scoop” any of the stories, and we don’t come up with the stories. This is just something fun for us to try and see if you think it’s a valuable addition to the site or not.

So take a look at it (please remember the one up there right now is the very first one) and let us know what you think. Do you think it’s good? Bad? Helpful? Annoying? How could we improve it? Give me your thoughts!
