Seth Rogen To Write and Star In Green Hornet

Seth-Rogen-HornetI got a little bit of a kick out of Green Hornet when i was watching re-runs as a little kid. At the time I would eat up anything that had to do with super-heroes and crap like that (come to think of it… I’m still like that). But the more time went on, the more I realized that Green Hornet was pure liquid lame. The only thing cool about his was Bruce Lee as Kato.

When talk started about a Green Hornet movie, I always thought that the ONLY way you could MAYBE make it watchable, is if you did it as a comedy. Trying to pull off a Green Hornet project as a “dark” hero movie would just be a joke. Well… it looks like they’re going the comedy route, as Knocked Up star Seth Rogan has just signed up to write and star as the dude who has no powers… but wears a mask and pulls a gun on you. Whheeee. Yahoo has this:

Seth Rogen, the unlikely hero of “Knocked Up,” and his writing partner, Evan Goldberg, are in final negotiations to co-write and co-executive-produce “The Green Hornet” for Columbia Pictures. Rogen also will be attached to star as the classic crime-fighting hero.

Soooo… Rogen as The Green Hornet huh? Well, I guess it goes right along with those old Jack Black as the Green Lantern rumors a while back. Does anyone doubts this will be just a comedy? (as a side note, i think Rogen is great… but this seems odd)
