Stanley Tucci Joins The Lovely Bones

Stanley-Tucci-BonesI can say all I want about how much respect I’ve lost for Peter Jackson (I’m sure he loses sleep over that) as a Hollywood personality, but there is no taking away from the fact that he is a very gifted filmmaker and whatever he makes will get my attention.

His new film “The Lovely Bones” looks just fantastic, and he’s already got a strong lead cast in place with Rachel Weisz and Ryan Gosling in place. Now it appears they’re ready to sign on the bad guy… and what a bad guy! Word is they got Stanley Tucci who is just liquid awesomeness in its purest form. Yahoo says this:

Stanley Tucci is in negotiations to play the pivotal role of killer George Harvey in Peter Jackson’s adaptation of “The Lovely Bones” for DreamWorks. Rachel Weisz and Ryan Gosling will play the parents of Susie Salmon (newcomer Saoirse Ronan), a 14-year-old who has been raped and killed by a neighbor she refers to as Mr. Harvey. Alice Sebold’s best-selling 2002 novel is told from the perspective of Susie, who looks down on her family and Harvey from the afterlife.

Now tell me how good that sounds? Creepy too. Adding Stanley Tucci as the murderer in that mix has just incredible potential and I’m now officially very excited to see this film (you know… once they actually make it).
