Alec Baldwin Joins Bachelor No. 2

Baldwin-BachelorScrew all the Alec Baldwin haters out there. This guy just frigging rules. The man was completely ripped of at the Oscars this past year when he EASILY should have won best supporting actor for the job he did in “The Departed”, he’s pure solid gold in every single role he plays, even making the worst of films almost watchable for the time he’s on screen, and probably has 5 of the 10 funniest SNL skits I’ve ever seen (I just can’t get enough of his Schwetty Balls… and Cantina Boy is the most uncomfortable skit of all time)

Anyway, he seems to have accepted relegating himself to supporting roles in films… which is totally fine cause he rocks the hell out of those roles… and he seems to have signed up for a new Dane Cook comedy (oh goodness why?) called Bachelor No. 2

Cook can’t act. I’ve met the dude twice, he’s very nice and honestly I would hang out with him if given the chance… but that doesn’t change the fact that he can’t act. Still, the description of the film from Yahoo does sound almost interesting:

Cook plays a man who is hired to take girls on horrible dates so they crawl back to the boyfriends they dumped. But he struggles with his libido and the meaning of friendship when his best pal needs his help with the girl who dumped him.

Hmmm… sounds a little bit like “Hitch” to me… but still it’s not a horrible concept. Sadly, having Cook as the lead just instantly drops my interest by about 60% (Good Luck Chuck is going to blow). However… Baldwin being in there just MIGHT peek me up a bit for it. We’ll see how things look when the trailers come out.
