He’s Just Not That Into You Movie Casting

Not-Into-YouThere was a short period there where almost every woman I met said they were reading the book “He’s Just Not That Into You“. Oddly enough, I’ve never met a man that’s read the book. But that’s neither here nor there. The point is, it was, and still is a damn popular book. But can you actually turn this one into a movie? Guess so.

They announced the film a while ago, but now some solid casting news is coming out. I even like a few of the choices. The folks at Yahoo News give us this:

Jennifer Connelly, Kevin Connolly, Bradley Cooper, Justin Long and Ginnifer Goodwin are in negotiations to star in “He’s Just Not That Into You,” an ensemble comedy that Drew Barrymore will produce and star in. The New Line Cinema project is based on the best-selling book about modern-day relationships and how men and women often misconstrue the intentions of the opposite sex. Almost in a “‘Traffic’ of comedy” style, the Baltimore-set movie of interconnecting story arcs deals with the challenges of reading or misreading human behavior.

Strike one… Drew Berrymore. I’ve met her breifly. She’s very nice (honestly). But she’s just not that good, and just not a draw (Music and Lyrics anyone?)

Strike two… Not a single biological entity with a Y chromosome has read this book or have any project recognition for it… and while that may not effect another project like “Sex and the City”, a hell of a lot more people have watched and know Sex and the City.

Strike three… “modern day relationships and how men and women often misconstrue the intentions of the opposite sex”. Yaawwwnnn… been there done that a thousand times.

I have mild interest in the film if for no other reason I like seeing how Justin Long’s career is evolving and growing… but the interest pretty much ends there
