Justin Timberlake Joins The Love Guru

Justin-Timberlake-Love-GuruIt appears that sensational non-actor Justin Timberlake (who is just dreadful in front of a camera) has hooked up with fellow good looking star who also can not act, Jessica Alba to appear in the new Mike Myers film “The Love Guru“. Somehow, Timberlake continues to get people to give him movie roles when time after time proving he doesn’t belong in front of a camera (unless it’s a music video).

My hope for The Love Guru is taking a beating. Still, I trust Myers… and the premies sounds great… I mean after all… the movie seems to revolve around my beloved TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS!!!! YA BABY! Bleed blue and white!!!!

Anyway, our friends over at Firstshowing offer up this synopsis of The Love Guru:

In the film, Pitka (Myers) is an American who was left at the gates of an ashram in India as a child and raised by gurus. He moves back to the US to seek fame and fortune in the world of self-help and spirituality. His unorthodox methods are put to the test when he must settle a rift between Toronto Maple Leafs star hockey player Darren Roanoke (Malco) and his estranged wife. After the split, Roanoke’s wife starts dating LA Kings star Jacques Grande (Timberlake) out of revenge, sending her husband into a major professional skid — to the horror of the teams’ owner Jane Bullard (Alba) and Coach Cherkov (Troyer). Pitka must return the couple to marital nirvana and get Roanoke back on his game so the team can break the 40-year-old “Bullard Curse” and win the Stanley Cup.

Mike Myers is also an insane Toronto Maple Leafs fan. GLORY! The film also stars Romany Malco who just knocked it right freaking out of the park in 40 Year Old Virgin, and Mini Me himself Verne Troyer. Both of these along with the synopsis are enough to make me drool at the mouth for this film…. UNTIL… Timberlake and Alba get mentioned.

A film can survive 1 pretty face that can’t act… can it survive 2? I don’t know. If Myers and Malco can throw this film on their backs and carry the enormous amounts of “Talent Slack” created by Timberlake and Alba, it stands a chance. But yeah… my enthusiasm for this project just took a major hit in the groin.
