Mummy Director Wanted $10 Million For GI Joe Movie

Stephen-SommersExcuse me “Van Helsing” boy…. you want HOW MUCH to direct a GI Joe movie? My friend Robert over at IESB put up this follow up story:

We first brought you the news that Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura was hoping to get Stephen Sommers to direct GI Joe. Our source is now telling us that Sommers wanted a Michael Bay paycheck and that the studio was not going for it. Reportedly, $10 million was his fee. Maybe he should consider giving a discount since he’s turned in “winners” like Van Helsing.

No look, I didn’t HATE the idea of Stephen Sommers directing GI Joe. The first Mummy was pretty good… the second Mummy was sort of lame… and don’t even get me started on how bad Van Helsing was. But he’s shown he can do adventure ok… so why not give him another shot? BUT $10 MILLION DOLLARS!?!?!

Dude, you should have been kissing the studios fricking feet for letting you at another big tent pole project after the shit bag you gave everyone with Van Helsing. What bloody nerve. Perhaps this guy should start hanging out with Chris Tucker… unfortunately for him it doesn’t look like he has the same agent as Tucker. Unfortunate for him… fortunate for us.
