There is a new Hitman Trailer that’s just been released. The video game adaptation is sure to suck because… well… it’s a video game adaptation. Still, let’s give it it’s shot and see how it does. The synopsis for the film goes something like this:
Agent 47 (Timothy Olyphant) has been educated to become a professional assassin for hire, whose most powerful weapons are his nerve and a resolute pride in his work. 47 is both the last two digits of the barcode tattooed on the nape of his neck, and his only name. The hunter becomes the hunted when 47 gets caught up in a political takeover. Both Interpol and the Russian military chase the Hitman across Eastern Europe as he tries to find out who set him up and why they’re trying to take him out of the game. But the greatest threat to 47’s survival may be the stirrings of his conscience and the unfamiliar emotions aroused in him by a beautiful, damaged girl.
Why do these studios always feel so damn compeled to throw in “The Damaged Woman” or a love interest of some sort??? It’s a device that ruins a lot of good action flick (there are exceptions obviously). Still… that sucks.
Having said all that… I don’t actually mind this trailer. It’s certainly a hell of a lot better than the first one they put out. Some of the cinematography looks quite good. I still don’t know if I buy Olyphant as 47, but I’ll have to see him in context. Check the Hitman Trailer out:
