Shoot Em Up 2

One of the more fun looking movies of the year, Shoot ‘Em Up, hit theaters in a few weeks. This movie just looks like amazing fun. I was talking to my friend Marty Keegan who saw it the other week and he just loved it.

The other weekend I had a chance at a party to sit down with Shoot ‘Em Up director Michael davis (that’s me and him in the picture) and yack about some stuff. Dude is a seriously nice guy. Anyway, when I asked what he’s got going on in the future he smiled… shrugged his shoulders and said “Shoot ‘Em Up 2”. We laughed and I changed the subject (we were at a party and I’m sure he’d been hammered with Shoot Em Up questions all weekend… I wanted to give him a break).

Anyway, it appears the man wasn’t kidding around as we get this from Coming Soon:

Davis and the film’s three producers Don Murphy, Susan Montford and Rick Benattar–collectively known as Angry Films–at the junket for the movie, they told us a bit about what provisions have been made to keep Clive Owen’s enigmatic gunman going after the upcoming film. (Spoiler Warning: one could possibly determine the potential fate of one of the characters by reading on.)

“Well, Michael’s already written a script and it’s even wilder,” Montford told us. “It could also be a stand-alone piece as well. He’s been very clever. He’s written a brilliant script and it could be adapted to be a sequel or it could stand alone.”

It’s hard for me to get excited about a sequel when I haven’t even seen the first one yet… so I’ll withhold my opinion on that for now… but damn… Shoot Em Up sure is looking fun. Let’s just see that trailer again!
