I bet a lot of men out there got excited by reading the headline for this story, but calm down. No, you won’t be able to rent any Anna Faris films at adult video stores, but she is reported to play a porn star in a film called Inferno. She is set to play infamous ‘Deep Throat’ porn actress Linda Lovelace.

The film’s called Inferno, and from what Faris says it sounds like it’ll follow Lovelace’s ultimately tragic story from her appearance in X-Rated movies in the 70s and subsequent rise to counter-culture pop-stardom and into her later years where she became an anti-porn crusader before dying in a car crash in 2002.
A lot of people may be concerned about Anna’s transition from slapstick comedy to drama, but I think she has the ability to be successful in this role. She has been in a few dramas such as Lost in Translation and Brokeback Mountain, and I think this role will be a great opportunity for her to prove she’s more than just a girl who appears in often unfunny and goofy comedies. (Until then boys, if you want to see her in something dark and R rated, you can always check out her performance in May, where she plays a lesbian goth.)
