Brad Pitt and Edward Norton have both signed on to star in the upcoming film “State of Play” which is based on a British mini-series. You may have heard of a little film these guys worked on together once before called “Fight Club”. That little experiment seemed to work out pretty well don’t ya think?
But get this… it gets even better. Set to direct this thing is “Last King of Scotland” director Kevin Macdonald and has been penned by “The Kingdom” scribe Matthew Michael. The folks over at M&C give us this:
In the film, Norton will play a congressman whose rise in politics is threatened by an investigation into the death of his mistress. Pitt is set to portray the journalist who oversees his newspaper`s coverage of the murder and develops a relationship with the politician`s estranged wife. The film is expected to start filming in November.
I’ve always said that “adding talent is never a bad thing”, and it looks like “State of Play” has added LOADS of it. Pitt and Norton are both just superior actors, who have already shown us they can pull off a great on-screen chemistry with each other. I like these politically based dramas anyway, so this is one that will certainly be on my radar. No word if Bill Nighy will be in it or not (he was in the original).
