Last Battle Dreamer – Bean And Phillippe Go Viking

Ryan-Phillippe-Last-BattleThe new Viking movie “Last Battle Dreamer” has apparently got a couple of solid names attached to it now in Ryan Phillippe and the always ass kickingly good Sean Bean. The two will play Viking warrior brothers. Nice start… you’ve got me interested…. go on…

Well, it’s also a love story. WAIT… you lost me… a love story? Yeah, but I like how they describe this love story:

Meyjes described “Dreamer” as “a love story written in fire and blood.” Phillippe will star as a seventh-century Viking warrior named Thorfinn who, along with his older brother, the battle-scarred Hakon (Sean Bean), invades Britain.

See… now “A love story written in fire and blood” is the kind of Viking invasion love story I can get into! Bring it on.

Now seriously, I’ve gone on and on about Sean Bean… but Ryan Phillippe is a guy that I think has shaped himself into a pretty damn decent actor in his own right. The last 3 films I’ve seen him in he’s been nothing short of solid (Crash, Flags of Our Fathers, Breach) and he just seems to be getting better and better. So yeah, Last Battle Dreamer is now officially on my radar. (source: Reuters)
