I don’t know about you, but I used to get confused by these two actors just as much as Tom Sizemore and Michael Madsen confused me. I used to mistake one for the other all the time, and wondered why no one has cast them as brothers in a film before. Now it seems that Hollywood has finally taken notice and they are pairing these A list actors together onscreen.
Moviehole gives us this:
The acting duo – whose parents definitely drank from the same DNA fountain at some time or another – are eyeing a remake of Susanne Bier’s Danish-language war drama “Brothers”, which centers on a man (Maguire) who is sent to fight in Afghanistan while his black-sheep brother (Gyllenhaal) cares for his wife and child.
This to me is the best casting choice since Kris Kristofferson played Kurt Russell’s father in Dreamer. Both are very good actors, and it’s going to be great to see Tobey Maguire in something that doesn’t require him to wear a costume for a change. (Loved him in Wonder Boys!) Hopefully these two A-listers both sign up for the flick.
