Sydney Poitier (‘Death Proof’ and ‘Veronica Mars’ fame) has joined the cast of NBC’s TV movie, ‘Knight Rider’ based off the popular TV show from the eighties.
Comingsoon.net gives us these details:
The Transformers-inspired sequel centers on Mike Tracer (Justin Bruening), the son of Michael Knight, the character played by David Hasselhoff in the original production. Poitier will play a feisty FBI agent who dislikes Mike.
Wow…I feel real sheepish. I thought this movie was supposed to hit the big screens and NOT be subjected to becoming a NBC TV movie of the week. Saying that, why the hell is Sydney Poitier attached to this? Considering she’s the daughter of one of the most highly talented and respected actors out there, (Sidney Poitier) and she starred in Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Death Proof’ this year, you would think she would have more to chose from than playing the generic “tough as nails” female cop in a TV movie. So what do you feel about this news? Do you think this TV movie is bound to suck? Will it be successful enough to be a pilot for a potential remake of the popular television show? More importantly, does anybody care to see ‘Knight Rider’ resurrected?
