Monsieur Cusack is back in the saddle for a cop movie. The name of the project is The Factory and we get the following description from monsters and critics:
John Cusack is set to take on The Factory – a new psychological thriller for Dark Castle. The film will be distributed by Warner Bros. For the film, Cusack will tackle the role of an obsessed cop who is tracking a serial killer stalking the streets of Buffalo, N.Y. Following the disappearance of his teenage daughter, Cusack’s character forgets the legal restraints of his job and goes after the killer his own way.
Buffalo is a desolate place, a land with no hope and fantastic chicken wings. If a cop was going to cast aside the law and become a vigilante – Buffalo is as good a place as any. I was born in Welland and it is just a short drive from upstate NY. Whenever I see Buffalo as the location for a film a part of me is always tickled with delight. I grew up watching Buffalo TV channels and feel like part of the community.
I liked 1408, and thought Cusack was good in it. I even enjoyed his performance in Americas Sweethearts (saw it on a bus trip). I am not a fan of Cop movies generally, and the whole “I have to rescue my daughter” card has been played so much there is a hole through it, but with Cusack in the mix I will give it a chance. Buffalo let your glory shine! Go Bills!
