More GI Joe News today! We get the casting scoop from our friends at IESB:
The cast for G.I. Joe is now almost complete, actors Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Said Taghmaoui have joined the spec-ops team.
Akinnuoye-Agbaje will play ordnance expert Heavy Duty and Taghmaoui (Kite Runner) will play the team’s communications specialist code name Breaker.Heavy Duty’s real name in the comics and cartoons was Lamont A. Morris and was from Chicago, Illinois. Breaker’s real name was Alvin R. Kibbey and was from Gatlinburg, Tennessee but all appearances are that some of the Joe’s origins may not stay canon and instead give us the global team that has been mentioned before.
Who the fuck is Heavy Duty? When I look up his information it appears he is in some of the more recent comic books, and when I look at his toy – it is cockshit awful. Who gives a fuck about this character, and why is he in the movie? This better not be the guy that bumps Shipwreck, Bazooka or my all time favorite Mississippi man known as Roadblock. If they cast Heavy Duty and not some of the classic characters I am going to shit a thousand pine-cones out of fury. For fucks sake, can these guys just stop for a second and realize that if they do this movie right, we will throw money at them forever!
I am glad Breaker is in the film, he is a classic character and a communications expert is always appreciated in this day and age. With so much bad news circling this project however, it gets more and more difficult to remain optimistic. I was very let down with Transformers and it looks like G.I. Joe is going to be worse. I will still see it, but I fear I will be full of disappointment and fury, like a Mormon in a Bangkok sex plaza.
