We are made aware of another birth comedy today named Baby Mama that will star comedic black belt Tina Fey. We get the following news and trailer thanks to the WEBMASTER at Filmjunk:
Baby Mama is written and directed by Michael McCullers, who co-wrote all of the Austin Powers movies along with Undercover Brother. The supporting cast looks pretty solid as well, including Greg Kinnear, Sigourney Weaver, Romany Malco (Weeds), and Dax Shepard (Idiocracy).
The birth comedy is starting to get drawn out. Knocked Up and Juno hit gold, and now it seems like everyone is heading to the Yukon to make baby comedies. This is the second comedy about “having a baby” that I have blogged about this week. I am all for ha ha ha, but when everyone piles into the bandwagon, you can certainly get sick of some ideas when they are beaten to death from all angles.
The good news is that Tina Fey is hilarious, she plays well of of Amy Poehler and the trailer (below) looks quite good. We will keep our ears open for further news about his project. Baby Mama hits theatres on April 25, 2008 and please treat yourselves to the trailer below.
