It has been rumored that Sarah Michelle Gellar will not be in the cast in the much anticipated film adaptation to the popular videogame, ‘Alice.’ She recently was interviewed by RadioFree.com, telling ‘Alice’ fans not to worry and that she will definitely play Alice…..that is if the project EVER gets made.
Firstshowing.net gives us this excerpt from the interview via RadioFree.com:
I mean, it’s a passion project of mine. It’s a story that I’d love to see. I’m fearful at this rate that I’m going to be the Queen of Hearts because I’m going to be too old to be Alice. [laughs] It’s something I’d really like to see done. And unfortunately, it was the victim of regime change in the studio. And I’m not getting out. And contrary to what you may have read, it’s still my project. [laughs] And I’m still working diligently. So to all those Alice fans, I’m not giving up. Because I believe there is such a beautiful, crazy, cool, twisted story to be told there. And if I have to get down and write it myself one of these days, I may have to…
Honestly, I don’t want to hear any more bullsh*t about this project anymore. It has been 8 LONG years since we first heard news that Sarah Michelle Gellar would be involved in this project, and the fact is I have given up hope that we will see a very dark and disturbing take on the ‘Alice in Wonderland’ tale.
I mean, it’s great that she still is attached and wants to be apart of the film, but that statement about being the Queen of Hearts is most likely going to be true, if they wait even one more year for this film to be made.
Sorry guys. I know I got some of you very excited that ‘Alice’ is going to officially start filming soon, but it looks like it’s not going to happen anytime soon. (So don’t hold your breath!)
