Dominic Monaghan, who plays Charlie Pace on the series “Lost,” has landed the lead role in the psychological thriller “Pet” for MGM. In Edna McCallion’s film, Monaghan will play Seth, a man who bumps into his old high school crush and becomes obsessed with her. He takes her captive underneath the animal shelter where he works but soon suspects that his old flame is not who she seems to be.
Monaghan played Merry in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy and will star with Ron Perlman in Glenn McQuaid’s period zombie flick “I Sell the Dead.”
This sounds like a great outline for a story. I hope that in an ironic twist of fate, Seth’s (Dominic Monaghan) crush turns into a werewolf on the full moon and kills him. We need more female werewolves, and it would be nice to root for the lycanthropes for a change. If we have a caged werewolf sweetheart, I think we will have a winner on our hands! Now the girl may not be a werewolf; I could be reaching….i just think it would be nice.
A good woman/women in cage movie is a ton of fun. If you have not yet had the chance to see Amazon Jail, please do so. When the guy yells “today is my birthday” I remember being at a friends house 10 years ago losing our minds with laughter; we still joke about that line to this day. An animal shelter would be a great take on a tried and true genre in need of new blood. No word yet on the film’s release date – but we will be sure to keep you posted
