Hori Smoku Sailor Jerry is a feature length documentary exploring the roots of American Tattooing.
Sailor Jerry is a legendary figure in the tattoo industry. My buddy OTZ has a few of his flash books and I used an old U.S.N. tattoo design from one of them as a template for my Welland tattoo. His style is unique and instantly recognizable. This American folk art legend deserves to be celebrated and I am very excited that a documentary has been completed about his life and work.
This film is going to be shown at SXSW, and you can bet your ass that I will be there. Stay tuned for updates, reviews and release dates.
