It looks like the tragic tale of Marvin Gaye will be spun into a biopic about his life. We get the scoop thanks to our friends at comingsoon:
James Gandolfini will join Jesse L. Martin in the indie feature Sexual Healing, which chronicles the last years of singer Marvin Gaye’s life, says Variety.
Lauren Goodman will direct from a screenplay she based loosely on Steven Turner’s book “Trouble Man.” The story covers the life of Gaye (Martin) from his parting with Motown to his self-imposed exile in Europe and will include his relationship with Freddy Cousaert (Gandolfini), the promoter who guided the singer through the recording of his biggest-selling album, “Midnight Love.”
This dude had some legendary jams and he was killed by his own father. If a movie didn’t get made about him it would be a crime against the art of storytelling. It will be interesting to follow the progress of this picture, my hope is that it will get a wide release but we will have to wait and see. In the meantime, Ladies and Gentleman I would like to introduce you to the legendary Marvin Gaye:
