Holy Crow! It looks like Michelle Pfeiffer has scored a role where she will be a Cougar that is slamming a wealthy younger dude! We get the saucy scoop from our friends at the moviehole:
Michelle Pfeiffer looks set to re-team with her “Dangerous Liaisons” director Stephen Frears for “Cheri,” an adaptation of the 1920s novel by French author Colette about the lingering effects of a romance between a middle-aged woman and a wealthy young man.
Colette set her book in 1920s Paris, where the young son of a wealthy courtesan is educated in the ways of love by a middle-aged friend of the man’s mother. When he is forced to give up the six-year relationship after marrying someone else, the young man can’t forget her and retreats into a fantasy world.
Pfeiffer is in final negotiations.
This is a great casting for Pfeiffer! She has never looked better and a movie that celebrates her cougin’ it up makes perfect sense to me. As a person that is dating a cougar, I am excited to see tales of people that share in my experience. When I was single, my co-workers at Bell Canada kept telling me to “bang a coug”, it was great advice and I certainly pass it along to our readers. If you have not yet been with an older woman -please treat yourself.
The Pfeiffer was great in Hairspray and I hope she gets utilized more as a villain. She looks like an evil sorceress and we really should see her in more films where she is conjuring familiars and casting spells. I want to see Pfeiffer next to a cauldron stat!
No word on when this film is set for production but we will be certain to keep you posted.
