So although up and coming actor Sam Worthington may not be acting in the new ‘G.I. Joe’ film as Duke after all, audiences will still see him fight onscreen as he has been recently cast in McG’s ‘Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins’ after James Cameron personally recommended the actor to star in the role.

While the “Terminator Salvation” plot has twists and turns that are being kept under tight wraps, Worthington will play the role of Marcus, a central figure in a three-picture arc that begins after Skynet has destroyed much of humanity in a nuclear holocaust. A group of survivors led by John Connor (Christian Bale) struggles to keep the machines from finishing the job.
Even with all the all star talent this post-apocalyptic trilogy has been getting, I have still been a little pessimistic about the final project. However, having James Cameron backing up this film and actually personally recommending an actor (who will be later seen in Cameron’s highly anticipated film, ‘Avatar.’) for a role in the series, gives me hope that this new trilogy will be kick-ass. (Even if McG is directing it :P)
I actually never heard of Sam Worthington before all the ‘G.I Joe’ news, but it seems like this Aussie actor is going to be someone to watch out for. So what do you think? Do you think Sam Worthington is a worthy candidate for this film?
