Ms. Milla Jovovich has landed herself another starring role in The 4th Kind. We get word of this casting decision thanks to the professionals at Variety:
Milla Jovovich will star in Gold Circle Films’ thriller “The 4th Kind.” Olatunde Osunsanmi, a former assistant to filmmaker Joe Carnahan, is making his directorial debut on the film, which he also wrote.
Although project details are being kept under wraps, it is described as a fact-based thriller involving an ongoing unsolved mystery in Alaska, where one town has seen an extraordinary number of unexplained disappearances during the past 40 years and there are accusations of a federal cover-up. Jovovich plays a woman investigating the disappearances in the town. A late-June start is being eyed.
The Fifth Element, The Fourth Kind, The Third Strike, The Second Option and First Things First. I have never been a fan of Milla Jovovich. She is pretty and is an outstanding model, I even thought she was great in Zoolander. But as an actress, I have always been at a loss at how much work she gets; because she isn’t very good….at all. I don’t want to sound like a jerk, but when I see her performances – they are hurting.
I do however like the idea of solving mysteries in Alaska. The blasted northlands make for an excellent sombre setting in which to craft a film like this. I am hoping the mystery is supernatural, or monstrous in nature. I would love for the sleuths to stumble upon an ancient arctic evil and be forced to battle the beast with Inuit magic and artifact weapons.
International Friends – what are you thoughts on Jovovich. Do you fancy her as an actress, or do you think she should stick to her day job?
