The ghost of Oscar Wilde has whispered unto me news of a Dorian Gray film! We also learn that Ben Barnes has scored the lead role thanks to comingsoon:
The Hollywood Reporter says that The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian star Ben Barnes has being cast to play Oscar Wilde’s iconic character Dorian Gray in an adaptation of the author’s novel, “The Picture of Dorian Gray.” Thompson said Parker is planning to make a visceral, dark horror story and says the themes of stardom are as relevant as ever.
Oscar Wilde was a man of legendary wit. His quotes are among the best ever written, and I have had an increasing interest in his works over the past year. To my surprise and delight, one of his novels will be brought to the silver screen anew. A previous incarnation of this story was brought to theaters in the pre Doug Nagy year of 1970.
I know the ladies seem to like Ben Barnes. I recall Kristina mentioning a few times that she wanted to bang him till his hip broke and teeth came loose. Such a handsome fellow certainly seems appropriate for the dashing Dorian Gray.
I have yet to read this book, but after I finish The Watchmen; I may make this next on my list.
