It looks like George is already mulling about another Indiana Jones adventure. We get the following scoop from the man himself via our friends at comingsoon:
Fox News’ Roger Friedman caught up with George Lucas at the Cannes Film Festival who revealed there’s more than a strong possibility there will be a fifth “Indiana Jones” movie.
“I haven’t even told Steven or Harrison this,” he told Friedman. “But I have an idea to make Shia [LaBeouf] the lead character next time and have Harrison [Ford] come back like Sean Connery did in the last movie. I can see it working out.
If don’t think I have any desire to see Indiana Jones as a supporting character. I have not yet seen this film, but one of my fears was that this movie would set the stage for Shia to be the lead in future films. I would rather see Indy die than have him become a sidekick to his son; this is not the way I want to remember the character.
I hope Lucas is stopped, or another idea for a story comes about. I would rather see a film where Indy gets a camel drunk and they try on hats for 90 minutes. I simply fear that Indy is going to be put through the shitter like Darth Vader was in the prequels.
International friends; would you be comfortable seeing Indy as a sidekick to Shia, or would this make you physically ill?
