Kevin Spacey will play a mind bender with a gaggle of people to fix in Shrink. We get wind of this film thanks to our friends at comingsoon:
Kevin Spacey will lead the ensemble cast of indie Shrink, a Jonas Pate-directed drama that has just begun production in Los Angeles, says Variety. Spacey plays a shrink to the stars. Saffron Burrows, Jack Huston, Griffin Dunne, Robin Williams, Pell James, Robert Loggia, Keke Palmer, Laura Ramsey, Gore Vidal, Dallas Roberts and Mark Webber play a mosaic of Hollywood characters who are his clients.
Unable to come to grips with a recent personal tragedy, the shrink is a chronic pot smoker who no longer cares about his personal appearance and has lost faith in his ability to help his patients.
Having Spacey as the ringleader of so many patients should make for an outstanding film. Robin Williams in particular will no doubt fill the room with demons, and it will be hilarious to see Spacey try and expel them.
Everyone wonders “what the hell am I doing” and “am I making a difference” from time to time. These questions can drive you mad if you let them, or (as in Spacey’s case) – drive you to the sweet bong of healing.
This certainly has everything you need for a dark comedy, I am a little dissapointed that they will be going the dramatic route – but I have high hopes that it will be excellent none the less. We will be sure to keep you posted on the progress of this film, it looks like it will be one to watch out for.
