We have some news from the war room of the Fame remake thanks to an interview Collider.com had with Gary Lucchesi. Thanks to our friends at comingsoon for the following highlights:
– They’re going to shoot the movie this November.
– The students will all be unknowns but some of the teachers we’ll recognize.
– The budget is around $25-30 million
– They’re going to film in New York and the interiors in Los Angeles.
– It’s set today.
– All new songs except they’re going to use the Fame song.
I am not pining to see a Fame remake, but I am glad that they are using the title track. That is a powerful song of inspiration, and I cannot get it out of my head since I read this story. I will probably be singing it all day to myself.
I also am curious about who the named instructors will be. Could we see a Swayze as a teacher in the Fame remake? I certainly hope so. The addition of the Swayze would certainly stoke the fires of my interest. He certainly has the dance chops to pull it off, and I always consider it wise to cast Swayze whenever possible.
International friends; who would you like to see in a Fame remake?
