We get our first description of the GI Joe trailer that has yet to be shown to the masses.
I just came from a “test screening” of the first teaser trailer for “G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra.” What can I say about it? Well, it was horrible. No, actually it was worse than horrible.
The trailer begins with some jets zooming by and dropping some bombs. Then we see Dennis Quaid as Hawk talking to members of a new elite fighting force he says has been put together to fight terrorism.
The review continues, but you can follow that link to read the rest in case you are attempting to avoid spoilers.
Now before we all jump on some Joe Bandwagon and start bashing the film based on this negative review of the trailer, the guy who saw it said it was shown only in one area and is being presented by a research group, so it sounds like they are testing it out on the public. When you read his description, everything sounds bad because he thought it was bad. I would like to have seen the trailer to know for sure. So I am reading his review with a grain of salt because everything he presents is negative.
Sadly even if they cut together a better trailer, it sounds like there is some wire work being done (I wish they wouldn’t do that) with some of the action, and the epic battle of Snake Eyes and Stormshadow didn’t look so epic. Who knows.
I am holding my breath on this one. Seems lots of people want to hate this, but I will reserve judgment for when there is something to judge.
