Seems like Fox is getting so desperate they’re willing to make a movie based on book by a 9 year old. Actually, I think it’s a good idea.
Here’s the skinny. There is a 9 year old kid who goes ahead and writes a 46 page book (how the hell does a 9 year old write a 46 page book?!?!?! I have trouble with 2 page reviews) meant as a self help book for others like him (you know… 9 year olds trying to get laid) that he called “How To Talk To Girls”. Brilliant title!
One of the quotes from the book: “”a crush is like a love disease that can drive you mad; it is easy to spot pretty girls because they have big earrings, fancy dresses and all the jewelry but are like cars that need a lot of oil.” This child is wise.
How this all came about it pretty interesting too. Our friends over at Cinematical give us this:
Apparently the kid sold his handwritten book for three dollars at the local school book fair, and then, of course, Harper Collins picked it up (because that’s how these things work when you’re nine and decide to write a book). Fox initially passed on the title, but when they saw how popular it was becoming, snatched it right up.
The reason I like this idea for a movie so much is because of the same reason I like The Curious Case of Benjamin Button so much. It will look at an issue all men face (talking to women), but from a totally different perspective than we’re accustomed to. I for one am going to take a notepad with me when this movie comes out.
