Fanboys has been a soft spot for me and the day is nearly upon us. The movie faced more cuts and adjustments not only removing the heart of the film, but also the heart of its target audience. The more the movie was delayed, the more the fans just didn’t care anymore, which is sad.
Latino Review had a chance to sit down with three of the stars of Fanboys to talk about their experience with the film:
ComingSoon also has some interviews and they allude to the one terminally ill character.
I held the faith and as news came about that after all the messing around they did, they were returning the film to its original cut and finally releasing it, I felt a tremor in the force.
The premise that they were all doing this just for kicks just didn’t sit right with me. However, motivated by one of their friends discovering he is going to die before the movie comes out in the theater, they head off on a mission to steal a print of the movie so he will get the chance to see the prequel film.
Oh I know people will be quick to bash The Phantom Menace, but this film isn’t about seeing the movie, its about the journey. 4 guys bonding over the loss of their friend, united by their common fandom in Star Wars and all that hype and excitement leading up to the movie.
No matter how you felt about the prequels, you cannot deny the excitement leading up to them was insane.
