As Yougurt once explained in the Mel Brooks classic Spaceballs, the real money behind the movie is Merchandizing! So with the new Star Trek movie coming out, it is only fair that giving you more opportunities to give them your money might crop up. But I didn’t see this one coming. Cologne and Perfume.
Genki Wear, known for its licensed science fiction jewelry and perfumes, has produced what might be the most unusual Star Trek product ever: Star Trek colognes and perfume based on the original 1960s television show. In our latest look at Trek’s big Spring Collection, TrekMovie has all the exclusive first details and images on this unique addition to the pantheon of Star Trek merchandise.
Among the scent options there is Tiberius, named for the Mirror Universe TOS Kirk Tiberius Cologne for men is difficult to define and impossible to refuse. Pon Farr, named for the Vulcan mating ritual.
And my favourite: Red Shirt, for a man who has a devotion to living each day as it could be your last!
Frankly the Red Shirt would remind me more of dating in Highschool. The “away team” would hit the bar and I was always the Red Shirt. Either flirting with the tarpit slug so my better looking cooler friends would get close to her friends, or just never seeing any action after the first two minutes.
Of course, referring to my barhopping buddies as “The Away Team” might have been an indicator right there.
