Joseph Gordon-Levitt (3rd Rock From the Sun and will for some unexplainable reason be Cobra Commander in the new G.I. Joe movie) has always been very talented, we’ve seen that even more in the last few years. He’s going to be a powerhouse for years to come. Rainn Wilson on the other hand is pretty much dead weight if he’s not on “The Office” (which he is flat out amazing on). Man he was horrible in “The Rocker”. Anyway…
Word has come out that the two of them have joined Natalie Portman in her new flick “Hesher”. Coming Soon gives us this:
The story centers on a loser twentysomething who invades the life of an awkward 13-year-old who is living with a pill-popping father and grandmother. Gordon-Levitt is playing the title character, a good and bad influence on the boy’s life. Wilson is the dad trying to keep his family together after the death of his wife. Portman, who is producing the film with Lucy Cooper, plays a supermarket worker for whom the kid falls for after she saves him from a bully.
Here’s the thing… I always sort of like Wilson, but he was SOOOO bad in The Rocker, I’m just dreading seeing him in anything anymore. Oh I’ll probably give this one a shot… and I hope Wilson knocks it out of the park… but he scares me now. It kills me that he’s in Transformers 2. Thankfully it’s a small part.
