Kirk’s Dad Is Thor

For those of you who haven’t heard the news yet, yesterday it broke that actor Chris Hemsworth (who can be seen in theaters right now in “Star Trek” playing James T. Kirk’s dad, George Kirk) has been chosen to play the Marvel Super Hero “Thor” ending literally years of speculation.

Apparently James Bond actor Daniel Craig was offered the role first by Marvel, but he decided to turn it down. The other finalists for the role were reportedly Triple H (WWE Wrestler, who will probably end up being Conan) and Rome’s Kevin McKidd.

I haven’t seen enough of Hemsworth to really have an opinion on him as an actor (although he did a pretty good job in Star Trek for the short amount of time he was on screen). My one concern is that he’s just… well… too pretty boy and young for the role. Granted, I haven’t read the script myself… but I sorta pictured Thor as older, bigger and more weathered. I’m not complaining about the casting… just saying is all.

So what do you think about this?
