This is how rumours start. All over the net today I have seen a plethora of articles stating this fact. Christopher Nolan has dropped out of The Prisoner.
What most people speculate or wonder is what he will do next and quietly hope its Batman 3. But no source has SAID this yet.
Patrick McGoohan spy series The Prisoner, filmmaker Christopher Nolan has abandoned a big screen version of The Prisoner. Nolan reportedly will concentrate instead on a third Batman movie.
Now a lot of people forgave Nolan for opting for a non-Batman film after his success on Dark Knight. Let’s face it, the boy can write his own ticket now, so if he wants to do something any studio is likely going to let him do it.
But when he announced that after Inception, he would be doing The Prisoner – all bets were off. Would they move on with the Batman franchise without him? Would we have to wait it out until he was ready to do it again? Oh the speculation.
And then today. He drops out on The Prisoner and a good number of sites are already “reporting” that he is back on the Batman trail.
Really?
Did they say that? I haven’t seen a source quoting him, or a producer saying he is working on it. Not even a reported negotiations to secure him for the third installment (He isn’t signed to it)
So as much as I want to see Nolan taking on the Caped Crusader, there is NO news saying that is happening now that he has quit on the Prisoner. It’s fine to speculate like some sites I have read today that say “I wonder if he will go back to Batman” but some sites are claiming its already done.
When he does lunch with WB and works out a deal and it gets announced THEN we will talk about it. But until then its just wishing and hoping. Not reporting.
