Greed is good, but changing the release date less than a month before a film comes out is bad.
And that is exactly what is happening to the much anticipated sequel to Wall Street, Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps.
Despite the fact that the talent, which includes Michael Douglas, Shia LaBeouf, Carey Mulligan and Josh Brolin have been promoting the movie, it’s been decided that the move to an autumn release is a smarter move than trying to find a spot in the crowded summer months.
I was looking forward to hitting this up next month, so I am a little disappointed that I will have to use this as a chaser for those Summer Blockbusters and fan conventions the summer holds.
Why is it being moved? No one is saying, though there is speculation that if it may be included in the Cannes Film Festival lineup. It would then be released there after its theatrical debut. Which wouldn’t make much sense for the film festival known for its premiers. So moving it to a safer fall release will give it a chance to shine at Cannes first.
