The Hobbit scheduled for 2013?

The Brothers Warner and mega screen format IMAX have struck up a deal for a whole pile of movies over the next 3 years, and it gives us a glimpse at when we can expect to see some movies.

Warner Bros. and IMAX Corp. have just issued a joint press release announcing a partnership through 2013 that will include placing upwards of 20 Warner Bros. films into IMAX theaters, as well as conventional theaters. The biggest news to come out of this whole thing is a tentative release date for The Hobbit of December 2013, two years after its initial date of December 2011.

But the good news is that this press release also has room on it for Batman 3 and Superman. Not that we suspected they WOULDN’T bring them out.

But this pushes The Hobbit back even further to 2013 than its ambitious 2011 release date, and while it refers to it as one film the plan is still to have it in two parts likely pushing part 2 into 2014.

Thats a long way there and back again.
