Almost a decade before I was born a TV show called The Man from U.N.C.L.E. was a big hit, and an adaptation has been in the works for a while and then it kind of faded away. But now it seems its back on track with a new director.
David Dobkin has been set to direct the film, which will be based off the popular NBC series that ran from 1964 to 1968. The spy show revolved around agents Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin who worked for United Network Command for Law Enforcement (U.N.C.L.E.) who tried to fend off the evil deeds perpetrated by Technological Hierarchy for the Removal of Undesirables and the Subjugation of Humanity (T.H.R.U.S.H.)
Now I am not all that familiar with The Man from UNCLE, but that might be part of what I like about it.
My surface awareness of this spy show gives me a little interest, but knowing so little about it means that this adaptation will be free of the burden of expectations.
Borenstein is another mystery to me, which is no surprise as he seens to only have one credit, and he is an actor, writer, director, cinematographer, and editor for the project.
