The first Kung Fu Panda (2008) reached over $631 million in worldwide box office. Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom will welcome back Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, David Cross and James Hong. It has a scheduled release for May 27, 2011.
DreamWorks Animation confirmed today that Gary Oldman has joined the voice cast of Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom and added that Michelle Yeoh, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Victor Garber are on board as well.
I totally enjoyed the first one, so I won’t mind being entertained for a second time. I was surprised at how much I liked the first one – I guess I went into it not expecting too much. Jack Black was genious, and the cast did a great job as well. It was funny, had a heart and the action was pretty cool. Adding Mr. Oldman as the new baddie is a great choice. And bringing in Van Damme into the mix is pure awesome. I bet the sequel will do tons of cash – maybe even surpassing the first one. We’ll see. I’ll definetely watch it.
