With Stallone making a big screen comeback a few years ago with his Rocky and Rambo properties I felt Rocky was far superior. But ever since then there has been talk of yet another Rocky, and even another Rambo.
While no definitives were given about Rocky, Stallone does put the stop on Rambo. Empire Online shares:
“I was going to do it,” he said. “I said I’d never talk about this, but with I feel that with Rocky Balboa, that character came complete circle. He went home. But for Rambo to go on another adventure might be, I think, misinterpreted as a mercenary gesture and not necessary. I don’t want that to happen.
I agree, and as tempting as it might be to milk that cow one last time, it is wise to see when something has run its course.
I can live without another Rambo, granted I wasn’t a big fan of the character anyways.
He does however reveal that there will be a directors cut of the last Rambo film that restores a meaningful speech he gives that illustrates how Rambo feels his life is a disappointment. Giving deeper insight into the character.
